I am looking for more information about the birth place of my father and his siblings, Thurber Texas. I know this town no longer exists, but I saw a special on the History Channel at one time and have never seen it again. Is there a video of this documentary anywhere for sale? **************** My gr grandparents worked and died in Thurber: George Nepoleon Bonapart TACKETT Born 1856 in MS. He married Lutricia 'Amanda' LLOYD @ 1880. George died in 1919 & 'Amanda' died in 1930. They are both buried in Thurber Texas. George & 'Amanda's children were: --Thomas William Sydney TACKETT born 1881 in TN. 'Syd' married Laura Victoria 'Vickie' MOODY in 1913 in either Thurber or Stephenville TX. 'Syd' died 1942 in Stephenville & 'Vickie' died 1977 in Mineral Wells, TX (These are my grandparents) --Luther TACKETT b 1882 in TN --Homer Cleveland TACKETT b 1886 in TN --Liza Leona Willie Viola Mae TACKETT b 1888 on AL --Nora Rebecca TACKETT b 1890 in MS ***************************** John Milton MOODY b 1862 in TN married @ 1885 in TN to Lavina Elizabeth FORD b 1866 in TN. John died 1949 & Lavina died in 1935 both in Stephenville/Huckabay TX. John & Lavina had the following children: --Flora Almeda MOODY b 1886 in TN --George Jarvis MOODY b 1888 in TN --John Tivis MOODY b 1890 in TN --Laura Victoria MOODY b 1892 in TN(My grandmother as listed above with Syd TACKETT) --Alice Rebecca MOODY b 1894 in TN --Sarah Jane MOODY b 1896 in TN --Joseph Franklin MOODY b 1898 in TN --Viola Virtrle MOODY b 1900 in TN --Inola Mae MOODY b 1902 in TN All of the above people lived, worked, and married in Thurber TX at one time, either mining or in one of the brick making facilities. Joeseph MOODY had corresponded with me for several years before his death @ 10 years ago and also kept very good records on the MOODY family. I am looking for any trace of these records today. I am also at a brick wall with my TACKETT family, and I hope anyone can help me get a few leads. My father and all his siblings were born in Thurber between 1915 - 1929. (My father Uel 'Mutt' TACKETT in 1920). I know there is a TACKETT family Association, I belong, but I have not gotten any information on my TACKETT's. Thanks for any help!!
