    3. Hi, Tommy, I am back, scratching my head. have scanned the descendants of Henry Copeland, James Copeland, Polly Copeland, Mills Copeland, and Peggy Copeland, children of John Copeland of South Carolina, Old Laurens District, 1700's.& 1800's. . I found several Elizabeth Copelands, a Fannie Copeland, and a F. Copeland, but their dates don't correspond to yours. This family in S.C. also 2 lines of Winns intermarried to Copelands. Mom told me Zee Winn of Huckaby and Stephenville J.C. Penny's was her cousin, but she had so many she got confused how, but it was in S.C. and Arkansas and Erath County, as were some of the Vaughns and Jim Nabors families. George Washington Sevier great grandson of Col. John Sevier, had one daughter, Dora, who married Campbell Copeland before 1880 and they had 13 children in Overton County, Tennessee. They had Sevier cousins in Milford and Itasca, Texas and Corpus Christi , San Antonio and Waco, besides the Wyly, Kay, Rampley Tarpley and other Sevier descendants in Texas. This includes the family and descendants of Missouri Governor Augustus King who settled in Stephenville. This is from the Sevier Family History of 1982. A Copeland researcher in Valley Mills, Texas has recently done a 2 inch plus bound book of the Copelands of Pennsylvania , Tennessee, Texas and the Carolinas but claims she could not find the 28 page geneaology chart mom had , sent for the 1937 Reunion. I asked her if she was sure she had found all wives of all men in her book. She was so positive she made me wonder if she might be alergic to a drop of Cherokee blood among a family of Bluebloods. Many of the Copelands around Waco can trace to the Carolinas. Due to Baylor students and some Cherokee businessmen and wholesalers and traders, Belmead First Baptist Church lets the Buffalo River Indian Baptist Church meet in their old chapel. My cousin Minneola Wyly Fulbright attends the parent church. Her mom was a Vinson from Alabama and Hico and Selden.. The Methodist are going to Tulsa next week from Waco to plan starting an Indian oriented Indian church. One lady wholesaler, formerly with some discount stores, is on the Tahlequah Tribal Council. On hwy 77 in Robinson is a Quala- T t shirt warehouse and factory. The Quala Cherokee were the main group in the Eastern Cherokee town and reservation in North Carolina, between Gatlainburg, Tenn. and Hiawasse Ga. They bought their own land through a Scottish front man while hiding in the hills from the Trail of Tears forced move. My pages also show a Fannie and Mary Copeland, twins born in the late 1800's. One married Toy Murphy in 1924. Sevier Family History lists a Thomas Dudley Jackson who married a Sevier descendant in Texas, Kate Corine Elston. 6/17/1896- one daughter Joyce Elston Jackson. Some of these kids were born in Alabama and some in Texas. Two of the sisters married Snow men. (One Wyly in Ga. married a Snow and one married a Starr) Some of this Jackson family is buried in Cleburne, Texas. Have more on Pres. Andrew Jackson and his Sevier conflicts and Wyly- Taylor home - their living room was his first law office- Amy Artis Wyly and Capt. Kitt Taylor, if you connect to him. I heard this at a Sevier Reunion in Gatlainbirg, Tenn. Valentine (Vol-In-Tin or Vol) Sevier had 7 children, 1699-1803. One son John had 18. His dau. had 2. One of them had 13 children and one of these 13, son O.C.Wyly had 23 & raised 3 others. 22 of the 23 had 4 to 8 children. Grandad had 3, and dad had 1 and I had2 and 4 grandchildren and 10 double first cousins in Selden - now that's just one line. The joke at the Sevier reunion was who was REALLY the father of his country, George Washington , his old neighbor in Virginia, or Valentine Sevier? Take care, Charles Wyly ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
