Salmon. His grandparents were Marcus Lafayette Dowdy Sr. and Elizabeth Sides; Thomas R. Salmon and Martha Ann Green. His middle name very likely was Edwards and his mother's first cousin was Joseph Edwards (1854-1873) who was hung by cattle rustlers as he was the witness to the crimes, as the legend exists. Marcus Lafayette Dowdy Jr. was a brother-in-law of my father as Mark's second wife was the sister to my Dad's first wife. Ed Dowdy was married twice-----(1) Sadie Hardin and later to (2) Duie (sic) whose surname I don't have. I would appreciate anything that you might provide me as to what happened to Ed Dowdy......as most of this family is buried at Clairette Cemetery, but he evidently is not.
