    3. Hi, who was your ancestor that was Erath County sheriff? I can probably find him in H. Grady Perry's GRAND OLD ERATH or Homer Stephen's FRONTIER POSTMASTERS. aLSO, if he was a Roberts, I have several boxes of records from Mattie Roberts Somerville of West Monroe, La. which give Roberts tracks from the east coast to California. Mattie, a certified Geneaologist and officer in the Natchitoches, La. Chapter of DAR is also a Wylly descendant, but I may not have time for a detailed research until the Wyly Reunion is finished , after August 1 st. She had 20 plus boxes of research passed on to me after her passing away by Bill Somerville, her Husband. Thanks, Bill. To my knowledge I am not a Roberts descendant- as Mattie was. Carl W. Turnbow , sheriff in 1940's was related to the Roberts family and Martin families by marriage and other links. Blackie Martin was Carl's deputy before he became sheriff. Take care, you may be kin to Billy the Kid if this is the line you are seeking. Mattie was.
