Charles, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy reading your posts. You never cease to amaze me with the wealth of information you are able to supply, not just historical information, but those little tidbits that I, personally, love to read. How in the world is it that you know so much about the residents of Erath Co? Please continue to post, and know that at least one person really looks forward to reading what you write (even if it doesnt apply to me and mine). Now, on to my question. I don't know if I have posted this, or if you will be able to help me at all. I am trying to find any information on my gggggrandfather Hugh S. ELLIOTT. According to the information I have found, he was born in Missouri in 1849. By 1870 he was in Navaro Co, living with another family, not married. By 1874 he was living in Erath Co. (listed on the tax records). He had a son born 1873, not sure where, and my ggggrandmother, Mary Ida ELLIOTT born 1875. Her death certificate lists her mother as being Betty ROBERTS, b. Arkansas. Betty died sometime between 1875 and 1879 when Hugh remarried. I have not been able to find her listed in any of the cemetery books that I have looked at, nor any information on when or where they married. Hugh died in 1924 and is burried in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
