    3. Hi, I just sent a note to Waymon Dees and had a paragraph avout the Roberson Stage Lines (I mispelled it Robinson) . My Uncle Joe Evans drove one of their "Robinson Stage Lines" buses. I remember the old Graham Paige and other "Stretch Jobs" wit luggage racks on the back, and in an open rack on top of the bus. They also had mail contrtacts. I think Uncle Joe was raised by his Uncle Cleve, who became a chiropractor in his later years. Several Evans folk are buried in Pony Creek(Box) old and new cemeteries, the Mitchell Creek cemetery, Selden(Hatchett) Cemetery, Indian Creek south of Stephenville, and Stephenville cemeteries. When the Roberson Stage lines and routes and contract mail sold out to Bowen, their headquarters was in San Angelo or Brownwood, home of Camp Bowie (WWiCamp Bpwie was west of Fort Worth in Benbrook). Uncle Joe moved to San Angeloand made the run from San Angelo to Fort Worth. Bowen sold out to Continental, which consolidated with Trailways - Continental Trailways, which was in West Dallas for home base. Greyhound has gobbled them all up now . Bus freight in the oil fields and to small post offices was big money in Uncle Joe's days with the Robersons. I used to go with mom to see her sister, Effie Carey Evans. We stopped at the bus shops a few times. They had grease pits under the busses when they parked them for service. Was Autrey Roberson or the Johnsville Robersons your family ? I attended school with one- red headed and freckled faced. Seemas one married a Goodman- a relative of the Mills and Little families. One of my South Carolina ancestors was a Polly Mills Copeland. My first cousin, Wayne Evans has a sister in Abilene. he is in Dallas and used to work for the old Red Ball Express trucking co. He said he had never been able to trace his dad 's ancestors positively out of Erath County but wants to. Am I on the right track?
