    3. The Hancock Cemetery is located near Purvis in Erath County. Located about 7 miles southeast of Dublin, Texas. The cemetery has about 29 graves, 19 marked with field stone (unknown) and 10 with tombstones with names. All the known have been identified except Asa L. Anderson, son of C.H. and B.F. Anderson b Jan. 24, 1875 d August 6, 1876. Need help identifying this family. Those with tombstomes are: Rubie Vera Hancock daughter of T.B. and Ora Carlton Hancock. b May 18, 1897 d July 16, 1898 Charles Martin son of M. & A. Houston b November 227, 1901 d August 6, 1876 (The rest of the Houston families moved shortly after their two children died to New Mexico and some decendants live there now) This Hancock cemetery has been cleared of brush, fenced, and a large sign errected. It had never been fenced to keep cows from walking on the graves and breaking tombstones, hopefully it will be taken care of from now on, if we can keep people interested.
