Gee Whizzz This must Bowen day on the line. I have made two replies this afternoon on the Bowen Bus lines of San Angelo or Brownwood. They bought out the Roberson Stage line buses, routes, and mail contracts and closed their Stephenville shops. Uncle Joe Evans drove for Robersons and moved to San Angelo to make the Fort Worth runs by Camp Bowie, Brownwood. He raised 2 children there, before Bowen sold out to Continental, then it was Continental Trailways, before Greyhound bought them out. I knew nothing of the Bowen family. My cousins might. Check those other two postings- one to a Waymon Dees and one toJmackey on the Robersons. This help any? I remember the Hancock name but the only one I knew well was Don Hancock of Lacy- Lakeview (Waco). We shared a vocational office in West High School when he was Vocational Counselpr and I was Industrial Cooperative Training Coordinator. We moved to Midway High School in the same summer (Hewitt- Waco). He became Principal, then Superintendent of the Conally Independent School District. He married a Smetak girl from West, Texas and they have 2 or 3 children. He used to stop and eat his summer sack lunches with us when he worked a month longer than I did in Midway.. Hope this helps.
