My name is William Robert Barker. I am despretly searching for information about my grandfather Robert Barker,( son of James and Nancy, grandson of William Barker who was in the Army of The Republic during the Battle of San Jacinto) and my grandmother Cora Barker, maiden name Walker. I have contacted county clerks, census records, and other people researching the name Barker and Walker. The only information I have been able to find is the following. Robert Barker born Abt.Oct. 1868 in Walker Co. Texas and died Abt. 1932 in Eastland Co. Texas. Married to Cora Walker in Waco Texas on Nov. 25, 1895. He and Cora moved to Cow Creek in Erath Co. and raised a family. The children's names are as follows. Matie Lue, Rosalie, Jewel, Genoia, Rubie, Pearl, and Robert Lewis Barker aka. Boyd RL Barker. Cora Walker was born I believe in Texas about Feb. 1881, and died about 1919 in Erath or Eastland Co. Texas. I have been unable to find any information such as records of birth or death records. Cora was born to late for the 1880 census, the 1890 census can not be found and the 1900 census shows her married to Robert Barker in Erath County. I believe she is buried in Cow Creek Cemetery, in an unmarked grave in Erath Co. Texas. If you can be of any help, or can think of any where else I can search, I would be very grateful.
