    3. Hi, I sent some info on the Ewing family to someone last week. Was it you? My info came from notes and family group pages of the Sevier family Histpry (Gen. & Tenn. Gov. John Sevier), published 1961 . The Ewings are a subdivision of the Clan McLachlan of Scotland.Ewing was the second son ofFergus . This group was involved in carrying the Stone of Destinyfrom the Hill of Terrah in Ireland to Scotland . This stone was brought to London by Mary Queen of Scotts and placed under the coronation chair in Westminister Abbey and in 1998 was returned to Glasgow, Scotland . Scottish and Irish records and tradition say this stone was brought from the Jerusaleum Temple to Ireland by Jeremiah the Prophet and he crowned his daughter Queen of Ireland after .....................tamar Tephi sat on and was crowned 580 BC. These Irish were descendants of Nail Mor, the Egyptian Princess who found Moses in the Bullrushes in a basket . The Nile River was named for her and when the pharoah that did not know Joseph and his God took over, she fled to Ireland to escape execution as a possible rival to the new Pharoah. John Ewing had 2600 acres in County Donnegal, Kilmore, Scotland in 1680. BOWEN-BROWN- Boone Brown ran a tire and Appliance store in Stephenville 1940's thru 1960's. He was a Deacon in Stephenville First Baptist, I think. Another Brown married Elmer Johnson, 1930's, Selden and her mother lived with them. in 1940's. For Bowen family, try Brownwood,Brown County, Texas. My Uncle Joe Evans drove Robinson Stage Graham Page and other "Stretch Job" busses with 5 or more seats and open luggage racks on top- from Stephenville to Fort Worth. BOWEN bus lines bought the Robinson Stage routes, busses, and mail contracts and closed the Stephenville shops. Jncle Joe Evans and Aunt Effie Carey Evans moved to San Angelo and he made the run from San Angelo to Fort Worth, hauling many Camp Bowie Brownwood soldiers. In the 50's or 60's Bowen sold to Continental , headquarterred in West Dallas and Uncle Joe moved to Ennis, Texas and made the Fort Worth run daily until he retired. For the Kuykendalls, (pronounced Kirkendall) check the following: 1. Texas State Library- at least one Kuykendall was an officer in Sam Houston's Texas Army and had a roll in the Texas Constitution and Declaration of Independence. These are listed in Rolls of the Sons of The Republic of Texas, an actove State organization today. 2. Try Austin's Colony or old records of old Milam County. Waco was soon organized with McLennan County. Bosque County and Erath County records were once kept in Waco or Gatesville, near Fort Gates. Erath County had some records in Bosque County. 3. My Great Grandmother was Ella Atalissa Hatchett Wyly. One of her sisters married a Bosque County Kuykendall- there was a small clan of them in Bosque County. The Kuykendall Land and Cattle Company, up to a few years ago, had an office in downtown Clifton and sometimes trucked their cattle to Wyoming for summer pasture, allowing their Texas grazing to recover. Hope this helps, Charles Wyly. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
