    3. Can't help you on these families in Erath County, but check the Sevier Family History book. Ewing is one of the 28 plus colatteral families who were connected to The family of Govrnor and General John Sevier, hero of Battle of King's Mountain and first Tennessee Governor. and 30 others. It is by Cora Bailes Sevier and Nancy Sevier Madden. Nancy Madden told me in Gatlainburg , Tennessee that she now has more info on Wylys as a colinneal family than any of the others. - Sarah Clark, Gen. Sevier's granddaughter married a Wyly before 1820. Sevier descendants in Erath County included Wyly, King, Hatchett, Kay, & possibly Ewings. others. Sevier in England and U.S. was changed from Xavier, the Royar Burbon family of Navarre, Pamplona, and Aragon- the Basque empire in the Pyrineyes Mountains. The book was printed in Washington, D.C. 1964. In the appendix it states that the Ewings are a sub-division of Scottish Clan McLachlan In Linda Ewing's book called My Forebearers says that Ewing was the son of Fergus Erca Scottish Knng of one province. The clan seat today is in Kilmore , Scotland. They are mentioned in the epic poem Tradition says the Prophet Jeremiah , Old Testament, crowned his daughter - or a kinsman King of Ireland. In 580 BC the stone was brought from the temple in Jerusaleum to the Hill of Terah in Ireland and the parent- founders of the Ewing families were crowned on the Stone of Destiny, It was carried to Scotland. Mary Queen of Scotts carried the stone to Westminister Abbey and placed it under the Coronation Chair. Each King and Queen since then have sat over the Stone of Destiny, until this year it was returned to Scotland. Some legend says it was the stone King David used for a pillow when hiding from King Saul. All of this was supposed to strengthen the Divine Rights of British Kings. I also found another Erath County connection to Irish royalty in a DAR Journal in Waco High library. According to this legend in English archives, Nail Mor was the Pharo's daughter who found Moses in the Bullrushes. When another pharoh took over her family fled to Ireland. The Nile ?River was named for her. She was Sythian. She was also crowned as an Irish king. Don't know who asked the Irish natives about it. She was an ancestor of the McNeils of the United States. Dr. Mcneil of Stephenville had a granddaughter who married mom's close Stone cousin. When John Wilkes Booth, with an injured leg, and friend, came to Hico and Iredell they were hunting a Dr. McNeil. Must have had civil War connections. Will close and let you figure out what this has to do with your querry, thought you might be interested. With this and $4.00 you can gedt a Dairy Queen hamburger, but it does stir the imagination. Take care, Charles A.
