C.L. 'Peck' Nix SEYMOUR, Texas - C.L. "Peck" Nix, 89, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in a Denton, Texas, nursing home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Seymour with the Rev. Glenn Shock, pastor, and Dr. Ed Hart officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home. Mr. Nix was born Nov. 24, 1909, in Erath County, Texas. He and Bertha Jewell Ross were married Nov. 13, 1932. She died in April 1968. He married Thelma Shawver Hurst in October 1971. She died in August 1989. He moved to Baylor County in 1924 and worked in home construction. He served three terms as Baylor County Precinct 4 commissioner. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Rieger of Denton, Texas; a son, Thomas of DeQuincy, La.; two brothers, James of Hooks, Texas, and Truman of Enoch, Texas; five grandchildren; 1 stepgrandchild; and 12 great-grandchildren.
