Hello all. Hope someone recognizes these folks and can provide some additional info. My gg grandparents, Daniel Anderson (b.@1812, SC) and Martha H. Venable (b.@1816, GA) married on January 17, 1837 in Forsyth County, Georgia. The raised their families in GA, ARK, and Texas. They appear in the 1880 census by themselves, living in Dublin, Erath County, Texas. Daniel was still farming at that time. One daughter, Martha Leona Anderson Woodall was living in Hillsboro, Hill Co, TX, and had at least one of her children in Dublin - must have been visiting her folks. Several other of the Anderson children stayed fairly close - Erath, Hill, Tarrant Counties. I think Daniel died before the turn of the century. Can someone tell me where I can find a record of his death, if it was in Erath County in the late 1990s? I think it was before 1997-8, because Martha H. Venable Anderson was living with her daughter in Hillsboro by that time. I notice several Venables in Erath County, but have no idea if they are connected to Martha. All I know about her family is that her parents were born in VA, according to various census records. Is Dublin still an active town? What was it like in 1880?
