I could read them but haven't been able to answer- it's like loosing ypur voice right when you are trying to talk to someone. It seems that in Jan. I carried the computer to a shop with several workers because neither Juno nor MCI (now CWIX- Cable and Wireless Internet Express and long Distance) would send. Had several late night sessions on MCI long Distance trying to fix computer after the shop failed. I can run the net and search but still MCI won't send. Juno help pages finally said there was a conflict with Juno outside another internet server and the other service, especially MCI- two lines of script have to be added to. Juno to avoid conflicts. I dumpped all addresses and 2 folders and the write and send page healed itself. Tell those of the Clendennin inquiries that they moved to Lingleville to attend the Academy there. Tarleton Academy and College was nort yet part of the Texas A&M system and the Mcilhaney academy and Huckaby's Farmers Grange academy/college had been as popular as Tarleton at first. Some of the Clendennins taught as Principal of the Selden Schools and I think they taught Dad- will send more later when i talk to some of my older cousins in Waco & Erath County . I am just a 70 year old kid who helpped cause the Great Depression- but Erath county folk ate steak, turkey, chicken, pork, wild grapes and plums in all forms of Jellies and jams, syrup and honey from our farms, gardens, orchards, peanuts, corn,Polk salad, Black Haws, pecans, walnuts, fish, watermellons, cantaloupes, pears, sweet and Irish potatoes, Berries, Mustang and Opossum Grapes, squirrel,Cottontail, Jack, and swamp rabbits, and others without having to buy it- just grow , catch, or pick your own wild and farmed. Bee trees could be marked with a brand listed with County Court under State law, and anyone else could not cut it legally. Half the honey went to the land owner. My grandkids think all the above fit to eat comes from HEB Grocery, Kroger's, or United Super. . I managed to work in 2 Degrees and Military and Aircraft (Convair Fort Worth) in while we raised our two kids.I still do substitute teaching in McLennan County. A major source of info on a few thousand European immigrants and Americans moving west is in the old TP Coal and Oil library on the Johnson Ranch in Old Thurber- locked and protected- wish it was all on computer, or at least published for research. Many Czech in Mclennan County and Italian in Falls Counties would fit here. as would some from Newcastle mine near Graham, Texas. Thurber was 10 t0 20 times as large as Stephenville around 1900& before.Stephenville was one of the last towns to get a Railroad in the County. Today Thurber is almost gone- 2 cafes & 3 people to catch the I- 20 traffic and Tarleton kids partying at Mingus, 3 or 4 miles north in Palo Pinto County.
