The name is Lingleville. The flowing script Capitols made it possible to mistake a Capitol L for an open Capitol S. Lingleville is on a paved state hwy from the north side of Stephenville through Lingleville to De Leon or Gorman. The cross road there goes from Dublin north to I-20. There once was a college- academy there and still is a high school, last time I checked. One of Grandma HiPP- Carey's Copeland cousins settled there near Grandad Carey's Stone cousins. They were all from Arkansas- 1890 to 1905. Could it have been Erath County Savings and loan? Sounds too far back. Could it have been S.F. for Santa Fe railroad land? Just guessing.
