Hi, Willie Gail Stephens is two years older than I and we attended Selden School, Stephenville High, Tarleton, and both worked at Convair Fort Worth to finish college. He taught Industrial Cooperative Training and nurse aid coop students in Stephenville while I taught it in West and Midway High Schools, McLennan County. We had both taught academic math or history to qualify for training for the ICT certification school. His dad was Gail Stephens, a peanut farmer and primitiveBaptist elder. I did not know Willie's grandad. Please remember that Stephenville was named after a Stephen family and some Stevens families, including great great Grandad Rev. B.T. Stevens of Shipley (Pine Mountain) , Georgiaand Texas. He and his wife and daughter Angelina Stevens who married Rev. W.P. & Dr. & pharmacist W.P. Hatchett of Shipley and Central Texas. Last time i visited the Selden Hatchett cemetery on the Duffau Creek I noticed one generation headstones were Stephens and the other generation was Stevens, but they had no connection to the Stephen families of Waco, Chalk Mountain, or Stephenville. Take care, Charles Wyly On Wed, 8 Sep 1999 17:20:17 -0500 "Lee Bahan" <gpblhb@compuage.com> writes: >Thanks to a very kind email from Mr. Dysinger on our list, telling how >to >email the Texas State Library, I learned today that the Wylie STEPHENS >who >d.
