    3. I sent some Gillentine records today to Dee- Need to start proofreading- I left out a key word- the ordinance that Rev. Hurley's church considerred as one of the 3 was footwashing. Many Baptist and Methodist Churches- sometimes joint congregations in the same building, had spontaneous footwashings after Baptisms or The Lord's Supper.. These were not taught as doctorine and are practically unheard of today. The Episcopal Church has , on some special occasions, an announced footwashing- whether by everyone or the leaders, I do not know. Two sermons of one hour each and one or 2 of the Ordinances made a long service. Baptism was in the Creeks nearby. This is described in Dr. Tidwell, sSouthwestern Baptist Seminary Ph.D Theses- a History of the family of " Choctaw" Bill Robinson. and the geneaology of the Robinsons. People all over Erath and Comanche Counties are descendants of his. Dr. Tidwekk, of Iredell, Texas was Southern Baptist and his wife was Primitive Baptist of Iredell, Texas. Both Churches claimed Great Great Grandad Rev. & Dr. & Pharmacist & farmer William Pinckney Hatchett. He and Bill Robinson shared the oulpit on special occasions. Dr. Hatchett was a leader in organizing the Central Texas Baptist Convention, including the Paluxy Association. Dr. Hatchett's father in law was Rev. B.T.Stevens buried Hatchett Cemetery, Selden, Texas and active in Chipley, Georgia. His daughters, wives of Dr. hatchett ( of Mexican War, 1845) were Angelina Isabella Stevens and Narcissa Stevens. Both marriages in Georgia.at least one after he came to Texas- think Rev. Stevens had both weddings in Georgia.
