Baylor's Central Texas Rangers who were sometimes Texas Ranger posses under Col. Buck Barry of Barry and Walnurt Springs- sometimes acting on their own agressively against Indians and some captors found hang without a Trial??? Confederate Home Front "National Guard under a Capt. McDuff & men sent McRae out scouting in Comfort Texas area while he and men killed peaceful Texas Germans, born in Germany & vets of Abortive Revolution who tried to go to Mexico to avoid the Civil War???? Their wives and kids were put in barb wire stockades near New Braunfels, Texas. With a home front guard like McDuff one did not need enemies. ????? Or were these Confederate troops or yankee troops???? The U.S. Post offices never closed in Texas during the Civil War.
