I plan to visit Erath County in October 1998 and would love to meet you as you do seem to be quite an interesting character--my kind! Searching for information about the descendants of Thaddeus GUESS (son of Levi and Emily GUESS) and Mary Ann SENTER(dtr. Of William James Senter and Mary Penelope Works) and their progeny. (My 3rd great grandmother, Nancy Ross Works is listed in the 1880 Itawamba County, Miss. Federal Census as living with them—I'd like to know what happened to her—when she died, where, etc. and to Thaddeus and Mary Ann) Particulars below: Thaddeus Guess b. 1848 Marion Co., Ala md. Dec. 14, 1871 Mary Ann Senter b. 1855 Miss (they were married in Itawamba Co., Miss) Children: Robert b. 1873 Miss Cicero b. 1876 Miss md. Sept. 12, 1897 Mary M. Davis Bettie b. 1879 Miss md. Dec. 13, 1896 A.L. Greer Both children's marriages took place in Erath County, Texas. 1990 Federal Census lists Thaddeus Guess, age 52, his wife Mary (Senter) Guess, age 45 and 5 children and one daughterin-law, and one grandson are in Precinct 1, outside Stephenville lying NW of Rio Grande RR tracts. (Were they horse thieves or something?) William James Senter and Mary Penelope (Works) Senter migrated to Erath Co., TX around 1880. Also researching the WORKS, SENTER, DAVIS (the former singin' Gov is a relative) families in Ala., Ark., Miss., La., Texas and elsewhere.
