Not sure , I only recently discoverred that Major William H.Clark-1757-1843 was the youngest brother of George Rogers Clark and was born in Shenandoah county, Virginia and buried in Hall County , Clarkesville, Ga. was named for the family. He maried Elizabeth Sevier b.1768 who died 1790. She had 4 children. Will recheck the date, but that means that Elizabeth had her first child Sarah Hawkins Clark at age 14, then Elizabeth Clark, John Clark, and Ruth Clark were born. When Elizabeth died, some reports in Sevier Family History say Sarah lived some with her Grandad Gov. John Sevier who had 17 kids - 2 wives- Sarah Hawkins and Bonny Kate Catherine Sherrill. Sarah and J.R. Wyly wer3 married in Knoxville in her Grandad Gov. Sevier's home. She also had an aunt named Sarah Hawkins Sevier in the same home- not sure about timeline overlap in the same home Sarah and Gen. James Rutherford Wyy are buried 1 grave apart in old downtown Clarkesville near the Episcopal church he and Clevelands and sons and a slave or two built for Charleston tourists. Elizabeth had 3 younger siblings. J.R. and Frances Wallace raised one of his Clark cousins. Concerning Black Dutch- I am descended from the same Pennsylvania Yowells as the Yowells in Waco and Coresicana are- Some claim Yowell- Youel- Uhl were German- others claim they were Scottish. One of the Yowells from Waco said they had German roots and had also roots in Scotland. It is not uncommon to see Scotch- Irish with German Roots. Dark Dutch was also a name sometimes used by some with darker Indian Blood. a Youel lady died this weekend here in Waco.
