Hi, Mom was born in Hope Arkansas , 1901 to Henry Carey and Nancy Elizabeth Hipp Carey. grandparents from Clinton, S.C. were Charles Madison Hipp and Sarah Copeland, both were in Arkansas before 1900. My present Doctor is a Pat Pryor. and his Nurse Doctor's Assistant or Nurse Practicioner N.P. Mrs. Herzog,. she is a cousin to the Hoelschers of Selden Dairy which used to be Hatchett , Kay and Wyly land. . Let me check farther, I think some Pryors are on the Stone- Hipp- Copeland-Harrison- Carey -Hipp - Ramage family tree. Mom and her sister Ada Carey Hatchett were babies when grandma brought them to Huckaby from Hope, Arkansas. Grandad came first in a wagon with a Bingo eyed dog, a pump organ, a milk cow, and a trunk and stove. He stayed with his cousin James T. Stone at Huckaby before moving the family to Pea Ridge then Oak Dale, then Valley Grove, then to a 2 sory house on Selden Hatchett land on the Little Duffau. Grandad said he came on a Pig Trail- I thought he meant dodging east Texas swamps . I mentioned this to a Harrison in Mena, Arkansas and he said he suspected that he and others over the years came from Hope to Harrison and nashville and Mena Arkansas, , then down the Prehistoric Pig Trail following the Ouashita Mountain Ridge for 45 miles, then west of Broken Bow, Oklato the low water crossing of Red River near Paris, Texas then south towards Stephenville or Waco, missing most of Dallas. No swamps by that route. One of the Hipps farmed near Cranfils Gap, Texas and another retired from his family neighborhood grocery store in Temple, texas in 1980's. The Hipp Family History is on the Interned from Dutch Fork German Hipps of North Carolina to Arkansas to Texas. Ramages were connected to Grace Ramage Livingston of Arkansas,a Carey- Stone cousin, and some Ramages settled in Black Stump Valley between Duffau and iredell, or Chalk Mountain and Hico. Other Hipps are in Lubbock, Texas from Arkansas and 7 Hipp Brothers live in San Antonio area. 6 are School teachers. Ring any bells? Charles A.
