SusanStephenville Empire Newspaper 21 July 1911 page 8 From Cindy Shipman on microfilm at the Dick Smith Library The Roberts Family Reunion Family reunions are becoming so common that there is no longer the newsiness connected therewith as formerly, but the reunion of the Roberts family on July 13 at Valley Grove {Erath, Texas} was not of the ordinary kind. Numerically speaking it eclipsed anything in the family reunion line the Empire has heard of or read about. Fifty people at such a gathering has generally been considered a big crowd and if a hundred could be assembled, it was a whopper. But on this occasion one-hundred-thirty-six of the Roberts assembled and had a big dinner and talked about the past present and future, as they spent the day together. The only individual at the great table not related by blood or marriage to the family was photographer K. N. Baxley and a few special friends of the family. Those present were as follows: L.F. Graves { William Thomas and Mary Beatrice Roberts Graves}, wife and 6 children; Mrs. Becca White {Julia Rebecca DuPuy widow of John Kyle Roberts and widow of George Washington White.} She was often called Aunt Becky} and 3 children. {She had 8 children: Theodocia, Riggs Thomas, Clint Wilson, John Kyle who died as an infant, John Henry, D. Lee who also died young, Leonard Leslie Roberts and Elmo White. } ; Nat Ross, wife and 5 children; Mrs. M. A. Keith {Sallie A. Roberts Keith, daughter of Leonard Franklin Roberts & Matilda Adeline DuPuy Roberts} and 2 children; Mrs. Pallie Higginbotham, Carden Hewlett, Lon, Lemay, wife and 1 child; W.W. DuPuy { William Wesley and Mary Jane Roberts DuPuy} and wife; Henry Wynne and wife and 1 child of Corpus Christi; Grady Goodman, Rich! ard and Grace Ashworth, G.H.
