    1. Re: [ERATH] 911 and Reunion mail addresses. Are you sure you know where you live??? .
    2. Charles A. Wyly
    3. Hi, One of my Double First Cousins, Grace Evelyn Wyly Tarpley marrried Melvin Tarpley. One of his siblings married a Leatherman - her Leatherman family and kin lived in Cedar Point- Pony Creek area and used to have family Reunions in Cedar Point. Tarpleys attend church at Cedar Point School/Church house and Brush Arbor. One family of Leathermans attended Pony Creek Church when Tarpleys attended there. Grace used to come to Pony Creek Revivals and play for the "Booster Band" of kids before Bro. Emil Becker and others would hold summer Revivals under the oak grove by the church- it was cooler under the stars , but watch out for swallowing those bugs while singing . Grace and Melvin married when he was leaving for the Navy and they ,with the help of an Army Chaplain , were charter members of a new Baptist Church in San Diego, Calif. , late 1940's, shich is celebrating its 50 th Anniversary this summer.. Pony Creek Baptist.across the prairie branch from the Box Methodist Church, school, Lodge Hall, and community party house ( 1 2 story Building, now gone). . The Box Buildings were gone before my time, but Great Aunt Susie Moxley taught there. I have heard that Pony Creek church was inactive , like Mitchell Creekor several years but is now being rebuilt and opened as a mission of either Cedar Point or Rocky Point Church. Wonder if your Leathermans are involved in that ? Seems that one Burl Perry also married a Leatherman, best I remember. I do not know of a Head Reunion, but ida Head Gristy and Ned Gristy lived a mile or so from us, they lived on Hwy 67 and we used to farm their land after Ned was disabled. The Gristy family, and Tate Ford and Bob Stanley & others played Country music at parties- for listening to musical art - not Dancing in that community. Ned and Ida owned some land- an old Head home, I think,in Evergreen School area. where mr. Snow murderred his wife and step mom and step son , a Connally from Hico and dismemberred them , leaving Bernie Conally's head in a sack in a cellar in the old Crockett School area. The body was buried in the Leatherman pasture in Cedar Point and parts of the others were being burned in a fireplace when Mr. Snow was arrested. This one and the trial filled several editions of Stephenville and Fort Worth Newspapers and national "True Detective" Magazines, who usually had more error than fact. One of the Heads was Superintendent of Alvarado Schools when I was at Venus I.S.D., just down the road. Stephenville and Tarleton trained a lot of teachers and administrators back then. Ida's daughter taught at Seminole, Texas , I think. . Ida and Mom sometimes worked as midwives during the Depression. Take care, Charles A.
