    3. Hi, this is a shot in the dark, but I wonder if your Estes families migrated to Clyde, Calahan County, Texas. My wife attended school there in 1950's with a Word Estes . Word's dad and mom were in the local commercial bird Fanciers organization with my wife's mom and dad. There were several semi retired folk raising hundreds of Parakeets each and other pet birds, and selling them to a buyer in Abilene Airport who flew them to the Chicago market. They traded with the Burkes Farm near Clairette, Erath County. Mr. and Mr. Estes were held in high regard by all who knew them. Mr. Estes was also a Real Estate agent and a staunch supporter of the Church of Christ. Word's older Brother Billy Sol was - and still is, I suppose, a Church of Christ lay minister. He had some problems borrowing more money than he had fertilizer tanks for colatteral and later , after settling legal problems, , declared bankruptcy and kept a Country Club as his legal home, a Grain truck as his " Horse and Wagon" , and a Cadillac and horse trailer as his " Family Transportation" under Texas Bankruptcy law. Another grad of Clyde High School was a "Slim" Willett who claimed to have written " Don't let the Stars Get in your Eyes" and recorded it- but that's another story in Abilene court records-and ran Abilene Battery Company. Take care, Charles A.
