The time I found the book, it was a number of years ago but when I was told that I would have to get a court order, that was maybe last year. Yes, the people have changed but the folks there now seem more eager to help than they were some years ago. Orginally, the book was with the public records but was no where in sight the last time I was there ...in fact, I looked around in the basement for a long while before I asked. Cindy, as you keep your eyes open for the book, it was a very old, small (maybe 8" X 12") book ...not like the ledgers the probate records are kept in. Someone told me that many of the old county records (the originals) had been moved to Tarleton but when I asked there, they didn't know of any (or course I might have asked someone that didn't know). I knew some things were on film but I was puzzled by the disappearance of the book and the fact no one knew anything about it. I've not had a lot of time to *really* dig into this ..too many other things going on. If anyone runs across it, please let me know!
