    1. Re: [ERATH] Asylum records
    2. There is a collection of county records housed at Tarleton's Dick Smith Library. Ones that patrons use frequently are in the locked room on the main floor of the library and the others are in the attic. There is a binder there at the library that lists all the the materials that are in the collection and I don't know if those items are available by searching the online catalog of the library. Just in the past few days I have scanned the entire list twice looking for some records that I needed and I think I would have noticed something as exotic as an asylum log book, but I've locked myself out of my car twice in the last four days so who knows! Most of the county materials housed at Tarleton are county commissioner, county court, county school district, and odds and ends. Drop Glenda Stone an email at [email protected] for information about specific items in the collection. We should see if she'd provide us a complete list that we could have Annette and Janice post at the GenWeb Erath County page or add it to the GenWeb archives so that we don't all make Glenda crazy with our questions. And in addition to these original ledgers and indexes (indices?) Tarleton also houses a large collection of filmed county records for both Erath and Brown Counties. A list of those materials at GenWeb would be useful too. I might could find time to compile that list and post it over spring break. Would it be useful to anyone?
