    3. There is a back corner of West End Cemetery which is overlooked by some amateurs searching for graves. Wasn't it partly used for county pauper burials- may have been one in East End Cemetery which was also not well marked. Commercial mowers sometimes "Loose " field stone meant to be a headstone, usually scratched with a nail or chisel. easier to mow where it was than around it or ruining a mower blade on one in tall grass. Sometimes such graves need levelling. I understand metal detectors and sometimes "Witching" or dowsing with 2 metal rods or a fork of peachtree limb will dip over a grave- or the rods will cross. This was shoiwn one night on TV, and some graves were found. Of course, there are many cemeteries within 15 miles of Stephenville. Remember Dan White and nephew Robert Bagwell who robbed Crockett Ross at his service station near Tarleton on Dublin Hwy? Dan trained Robert , a teenager to run in and rob with a gun and get money and run out to the car he was driving. Problem was, Crocket Ross did not think like McDonald's management of today and resisted. A Selden pastor and Seminary Student was holding Jail services in Stephenville after Dan was given the death sentence. Dan was converted with no thought of appeal- he said he was responsible for Robert's actions and knew he deserved his sentence, but he asked to be baptized. The Selden Church accepted him as a member and the pastor baptized Dan in the baptistry of Stephenville First Baptist. He was executed at Huntsville. Where was he buried? If I made a mistake on a name, please tell me.
