    1. Re: [ERATH] Research Area???
    2. The best genealogy collection in Erath County is in the genealogy room at the Dick Smith Library at Tarleton State University. This library is the depository for the microfilm of the Erath County records. You can get copies for 10 cents. You will need a copy card to make copies. Inquire at the front desk. The Brand Book is kept in a back room. Ask a librarian if you want to look at it. You might also ask for Glenda Stone. This library also has back issues of the newspaper on microfilm and some family histories, etc. in the genealogy room. When you go to the university, you will need to stop at the security office to get a parking pass. The Stephenville Public Library has a small collection as does the Dublin Public Library. FYI: The city of Round Rock is near Austin and is at least 1 1/2 hours from Stephnville. There are several very nice, new, places to eat in Stephenville and two or three well known motel chains. If you get a chance, you need to ask at the court house to see the newly restored court room. It is fantastic.
