Hi, What was the origin of the Kirk family you mentioned. I just noticed it. There are Kirks in Marlin - Falls County- and was just wondering, as you mentioned them connected with Mingus, and Thurber, if they were of Czech or Italian Descent- some of the Europeans brought in by the TP Coal and Oil to mine coal and make bricks. Kirks in Marlin are both black and white. One Ron Kirk was Police Chief and ran for sheriff of Falls County. Were they connected to Erath County Kirks? Take care, Charles A.
