Hi, Momused to know a Louise Albritton in Erath County, Texas. Don't remember much about them, but they either lived in Selden or Huckaby, Erath County, Texas. Do you suppose this one was born Louisiana .Allbritton?? Far fetched- ? Seems Great Grandad's grandad Gen. James Rutherford Wyly of Toccoa, Ga.- War of 1812 named his daughter for his mom Jemima Cleveland Wyly Edwards Cleveland, - some records show Louisiana Jemima Wyly- others- same birthdate, show her as Louantis Wyly. Jemima died near Tippah, Miss. in East Feliciana Parish , Clinton, La. where there are volumes of testimony concerning estyate of jemima, given her by Col. Ben Cleveland, her dad. He got the land for his Military Service. Also, Roberts, McCarty, Somerville- Higdon names in Erath County had Louisiana roots. Ross Higdon of Minden- Hodge area quit school to work in a sawmill. He wrote his Grandad- my Great Grandad G.M. Moxley and offerred to work for room and board in Erath County so he could finish High School and possibly attend Tarleton. he attended Selden Church . The Moxley home never had electricity or running water, but Ross considerred this a step up from a life in a North Louisiana Sawmill .
