Hi, Fredrick Wyly was a son of Ben Wyly. He married the Mefford mentioned, then they later "Stood Up" at a Keith Wedding in Green's Creek Baptist Church, when a Keith was married. it was a nice spring day and friends came from miles around for the Wedding. The crowd was too large for the meal planned for the Families of Bride and Groom, so each wagon or buggy had killed a Chicken, picked fresh vegetables, opened canned fruit and home canned Grape juice and cooked a roast or whatever. Wagons and buggies spread to trees near the church and smaller groups shared their lunches and visited with friends until Sundown, then returned home after dark- >From my living in the county I will name a few common dishes they would have eaten: 1. Mustang Grape juice and Jelly 2. Home baked cornbread and biscuits 3. Wild Plum Jelly and Canned Indian Peach Pickles 4. Fresh Garden produce- raw and cooked. 5. Beef and Pork and Chicken, home raised, home killed and home canned or cooked 6. Polk Salad or Poke Salet Greens 7. Sometimes Rabbit, fish, and Deer 8. Home raised honey 9.Fresh Peaches, plums & Berries 10. Field Corn, fresh or canned in jars. 11.Pecan Pie from local pecans and Syrup from local Syrup mills. She wasn't a sister to Roy Mefford they were cousins. Mary Mefford was the oldest child of George Washington Mefford and Serena Jane Pickering. George Washington Mefford was the son of William Ewing Mefford and Lucinda Findell Arendell. Lucinda Arendell Mefford was a sister to Thomas Arendell.
