No, she was originally a Smith, who married a Russell. I am not sure at this point what his first name was. Her mother, my ggggrandmother, outlived all of her children. Nancy was the youngest. They came to Texas around 1853 to Springhill or Emmet in Navarro County. My ggggrandfather, Elias Birchfield Smith died shortly after the Civil War and the family migrated to Erath County in the 1880's according to the records I have. They lived around Pony Creek and Daffu, but I visited what was supposed to by my ggggrandmother's old home place in Dublin when I was around 7 or 8. Most of my family is now deceased so it is hard to find the records for Erath County, but I am still looking.
