Dan, Do you have additional information? I have transcribed the first 18 pages of the 1900 census and there are a number of Hughes families. One of them is fairly unreadable. It's on page 3B Line 70 perhaps last name of Hughes, First name looks like Emery b 1852 wife Hattie b 1862. They do have children. Others are: Hughes, Ollie b 1861 with wife Leona b 1879 Nick, b 1850 daughter Mattie b 1882 Crocket D. b 1867 and wife Fannie b 1867. All of these Hughes families have children. If you have additional info., that would help.
