    3. Hello Margaret. My Akers family was in Wise County in and around Chico. Their names were Hugh Henry and Mary Catherine Netherland, Akers. Their children were my grandfather William Oscar 1875, Anne Terrill, Flora Susan, Rose Lee, and Hugh Price. They were there from 1873 until 1893. They left Troy, Lincoln County, MO in 1871 for "The Wilderness" in Wise County, TX. They were buried in Dougherty, OK in 1924 and 1926.He was a Methodist Minister of the Church that still stands here in Dougherty. These are the only Akers I have that were in TX. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <mygen@att.net> > To: <TXERATH-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, April 14, 2005 10:17 AM > Subject: Re: [ERATH] Hello, I am new. > > > > Armenta, > > > > I have two Akers in my data base: > > > > Dorothy Akers married Wilty McElhaney who was born in Erath County.
