Margaret, Thank you for the marriage date of Willie & Riggs. Riggs was, in 1910, living with his sister Theodocia Roberts Dawson, (Docia). These articles appeared in the Erath paper: ErathCounty Appeal Newspaper 12 Oct 1899 " J. N. Groenbeeck and Riggs Roberts visited the Dallas fair this week." ErathCounty Appeal Newspaper 18 Oct 1900, page 831 "Riggs Roberts (age 31) and Tom Minter left Monday to attend the fair at San Angelo. They expect to enter the shooting contest." ErathCounty Appeal Newspaper 19 July 1900 page 704 "The Greren-Roberts fishing party returned Saturday evening. It was composed of Riggs, Charley, Will and Leonard Roberts: and T. G. and Roy Geren. T. G. Geren returned on the 4th, the others were gone twenty-three days and would have liked to stay a month longer." Riggs was a deputy town clerk in Stephenville in 1900. In 1904 Riggs ran for tax collector against Davis S. Doyle. I wish I knew who won? Riggs & Willie are listed on the 1910 census. By 1912, Riggs was in San Benito Texas running an auto repair shop with his son Kane. I can't find Riggs after that. Perhaps he died? Riggs' first wife was Mattie E. Unknown surname. They married circa 1894? Mattie died 1 Apr 1899. They had Kyle Kane in 1895 and Cressie in 1 Oct 1898. She died 26 Mar 1899 & is buried in the Old Valley Grove Cemetery. Riggs grandfather was John Henry Roberts who sailed down the Mississippi with McCormick. John's sister Elizabeth Roberts Salmon received a land grant, Dec. 1839, in the Red River District, Erath. If you would like more info, let me know? BTW I am the one who provided the Farrer website the Roberts information. I have not been able to figure out how to put my stuff on RootsWeb, so I offered it to Randy Farrer and he generously put it up for me. Susan Roberts
