Thanks, Yes, this is the same Church, but the location has changed a mile or so. It used to be farther south near the Valley Grove school location and Gentry Bridge and W.T. Graves home- more in a Valley than the present location at the Y in Hico Highway location. Grandad Henry and Becky Hipp Carey and family including mom Emma Carey Wyly and siblings attenmded Church there. . Mom said she Aunt Ada Hatchett and Aunt Effie Evans walked from Oak Dale to Valley Grove driving their milk cows and calves on foot. One reason the church was moved upstream was the odor from the Stephenville Sewer plant, across the iron Bridge from W.T. Graves House on the old Hico Hwy. It was fine if wind was not out of the west and better with a South or East Breze blowing. One of the nearest cemeteries is on Pole Hollow or Pole Holler, visible from the Highway. Now, what was the name of the old School across U.S. 67 and across the creek from Parham's Wrecking Yard? Mom sand when she was small a Blue Norther rolled in and Grandad stopped the wagon at the School on this Road towards Evergreen and others already had a Fire going. They spent the night in the old School with the others. This was across the creek from the old Historic 2 story Limestone Rock historic House south of U.S. 67. Charles Wyly Take care, Charles A.
