    3. Hello list, Yesterday afternoon I called the Valley Grove Baptist Church in Stephenville to see if it was the same Valley Grove Church begun in the last half of the 1880s by the DuPuy/Roberts clan of Valley grove. It is. I have been looking for actual Roberts for 5 years in Stephenville. I have met some. But none from the John Kyle Roberts & Rebecca DuPuy line. Yesterday I hit pay dirt! The church gave me the number of the church historian who descends from James Roberts & Sarah McCormick, John Kyle's brother. She then called some Roberts and two called me last evening. This gave me connections, information and some information I'd rather not have ever known. (Do you tend to idealize your ancestors too?) I thought this tip might help some else? Susan Roberts

    3. Susan, You mention the name McCormick. Do you have anything on that name for this area? My uncle married a McCormick , her name was Edith (Halbert) McCormick. She was born 1894 in Morgan Mill, Erath Co., TX. She married my dad's brother, (James) Hubert McElroy in 1913, at Thurber, Erath Co., TX. In my data base I show that Aunt Edith was born a Halbert, and that her mother, was Ida Halbert, married to John T McCormick, in 1898. Aunt Edith's sister was named Bessie. I would appreciate hearing from you.
