    2. Charles, I seriously doubt that "political correctness" had anything to do with it. The term "Scots-Irish" was around at least 200 years before we became what was or was not politically correct.     3. Well, Queen Elizabeth used the term, Scotch Irish, to describe my folks back in 1573. When was "Scots-Irish" first used? See: http://www.scotchirish.net/What%20about%20the%20name.php4 I haven't researched my ancestors back that far, and certainly not 200 years before then. Most of the early settlers in Erath and surrounding counties were from Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, etc., and had their origins in Scotland, Ireland, and England.
