Hi, If you are talking about Col. Honzie Rogers ranch, it was on the Walnut to Hico road, not the Chalk Mountain to Walnut Road. Col. Rogers married the sister of Tom Fair. She was in Nursing school in Tarleton and Styephenville Hospital with my Aunt Mary Wyly, who is now 98. Little Tom Fair was an Ag teacher at one time since his high school Days. The Fairs were from Stephenville area. Tom was Walnut Springs Postmanster in 1960's. The Rogers land was roughly south of the Flat Top Ranch, downstream on Flag Branch and/or the East Bosque. Flat Top had the Roberts family as resident manager, and Stroud fsmily ran the Feed mill and worked under Mr. Roberts. The Stroud boy had a damaged leg from falling on to a conveyor belt when in Grade school, and he hung on to a steel Rod until they could stop the mill. It damaged his leg, but he was a High School, Athlete. Emerson Rhodes and Shipmans and Bakers lived adjoining the Flatr Top Ranch.
