Are there any other pictures similar for Erath Co? My grandad died in January, 1912 and I believe he was in bad health for awhile before his death. I never knew him. My mother was born on his 50th birthday and she was about 41 when I was born. He was 69 when he died and that is my age now! He was John (J J) McKinney and lived near Gordon, TX. My dad recalled that Grandpa would go to all the veterans reunions he knew about, all over the country. I have a book he was given in Memphis, TN at a reunion in 1910. His brother-in-law wrote these words about him when he learned of his death, "John J McKinney was born in Lincoln County, Tenn., June 13, 1843; and died January 16, 1912. Camp Erath, U.V.C. has lost a faithful comrade. he was a brave soldier, a good citizen, and a kind neighbor. He was an affectionate husband and father. He belonged to Company E, Balentine's Reiment, Armtrongs's Brigade, Army of Tennessee." Dortha McElroy Greenlee ----- Original Message ----- From: "John A.
