Hello, Speaking of books, I was the Weatherford Library today copying some pages of Hurrah for Morgan Mill, does anyone know where I might get a copy. I have emailed the author a few months ago and he doesnt have anymore. I would really love to give my Uncle one for his birthday in July. I haven't posted in awhilebeen busy with my 2 kids. Anyway, I had a WONDERFUL experience. I got to see my Grandpa, Tullie Herring, for a few days. He is 98? now and still has fairly decent hearing and a good memory. I got him telling me stories - like when he and Grandma Clara got married in a cotton field in Erath County for $2, and when he got 3 of his toes run over by a train down in Willis, Tx. Anyway, my mother has her Thornton trilogy being re-published. Cindy knows about these books - it's the story of the Daniel and Mary Anna Thornton settling into Erath County. They should be on sale any time now - they are in a set of 4 called "Texas Dreams" and you can find them in Christian bookstores as well as WalMart. Oh, and her name is Linda Herring. Take care! Tx., married Lamora Elizabeth Herring, daughter of Mark Herring and Malissa Francis Hightower. All of these were early settlers of Morgan Mill area. I have heard many stories about them, and would love to hear more stories. What I really want to find is a book that was probably written in the late 1950's about 'old time cowboys'. A young man came to Ft. Worth, Texas and interviewd "Pappy" Huckabee about his life as a real cowboy as a young man before and about the turn of the century ( late 1800's and early 1900's). I was there when the young man came for the interview but I didn't get his name or who he was from. And I did not hear the interview. If anyone knows the name of the book etc, I would be ever so grateful to know this and where I can get a copy. I have heard that "Pappy" actually was on trail drives on the Chisholm and Goodnight trails. I would like to have this story for our grandchildren and no one in the family seems to know who it was that was writing the story. Thanks for any help... dh ______________________________Date: Fri, 20 May 2005 18:35:59 EDT From: TYLERPRYOR@aol.com To: TXERATH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ERATH] Huckabee/Herring/Hightower dh, I used to live in Morgan Mill and knew Avry very well, although I was much younger.
