    2. Sarah, Yes, I did and didn't see any connection. My great great grandfather McElhaney had only one brother who was killed in the Civil Warand had no children. So far, nothing is known about possible siblings of his father. I guess that this is a question that only DNA can solve. I don't know if I sent this to you before, or not, so here it is. She was born 1854 in Maury County, Tennessee, and died 19 July 1928 in Ventura, California. Notes for Columbus Luther McElhaney: I. Company A of the 45th. Infantry. Volunteered Dec 17, 1861. Was in the battle of Stones River, TN. about 40 miles from home with his brother Livington. Livington was killed in the battle. Columbus survived the battles of Shiloh, Chickamauga, Vicksburg, and Baton Rouge. He was captured Sep 2 1864 at McDonough near Jonesboro, and was taken to Camp Douglas, Ill. Nov 1 1864. He remained a prisoner at Camp Douglas untill the end of the war, and was discharged May 13, 1865.
