I love the internet! :) I found my Danner line!!!! Turns out that the wife of a Danner cousin of mine is a librarian at the Dick Smith Library, Tarleton State Univ. in Stephensville, in Erath Co. :))) what a coincidence. She did research for and helped write at least one book on the Danner line. See http://www.getzendanner.com for more info on the books. I had been searching for Jesse Danner, who I had thought was descended from John and Lena Danner. Turns out John was Jesse's older brother. John had a daughter named Jessie, which may be where the confusion came in. Jesse Danner's father's name was Jacob. Here is my Danner line: Christian GETZENDANNER & Anna Barbara BRUNNER Jacob GETZENDANNER & Catherine KAST Thomas GETZENDANNER Jr & Amelia STOKES Thomas GETZEN-DANNER Jr & Alice Ann (Nancy) BATES Jacob DANNER & Paralee Allie GAMBLE Jack David (Jesse Danner) UNDERWOOD (21 Dec 1879 - 12 May 1938) & Rebecca Surilda CHRONISTER (3 Aug 1885 - 3 Mar 1977) Anna Belle UNDERWOOD (6 Apr 1904 - 7 Oct 1970) & Frank David MOORE (3 May 1895 - 7 Dec 1972) Van Rose MOORE (5 May 1935 - 18 Feb 1991) & Maria Elena RODRIGUEZ (16 Dec 1935 - 27 Mar 1989) Walter Byron MOORE (25 Jun 1963 - ) Thanks for all the help! Marion David ROBERTSON was shot and killed while making an arrest in Erath County TX on 29 Mar 1879. I have a letter written to my great grandfather, Marion's brother, dated 26 May 1927 which says Russ Holloway turned himself in for the killing nearly 50 years after the crime. This is said to have come from a newspaper article in the "Dublin paper". What would the name of this newspaper be? Would it be possible to get a copy of the article? Are there any other sources of information available on these two events? Thanks, Joel Robertson robertsn@cyberhighway.net

They begin to migrate into ALA, Conecuh, Pike, and surrounding areas, my direct not arriving until 1870. From ALA they came into Leon Co. TX bef 1880, then into Limestone/Freestone Co. TX for several years before landing in Erath Co. TX. While I'd love to fit them with the other ADKISSONs of Leon/Limestone Co. I haven't been able to. Those came out of TN and maybe fit your line. I remember the name of Wm. Scott ADKISSON from TN, you might look for info. on him. Perhaps your Eliz. is a sister. DEBBIE --CAA13946.891847143/clmout3.prodigy.com-- << End of Forwarded message >>

I am searching for the family of my ggrandfather, Jesse Danner; his parent's names were John Danner and Lena (maiden name uknown). Jesse is supposed to have been born on 21 Dec 1879 in Morgan's Hill (which no one has heard of), TX, but its possible that he was born in any of these places: Morgan (Bosque Co.), Morgan Mill (Erath Co.), Morgan's Point (Harris Co.), or Morgan's Point Resort (Bell Co.), Texas. Apparently his family moved to Bragg City Missouri. He was given to an Underwood family while there, when his parents could not care for him (but I do not know when this occured). The Underwood family named him Jack David Underwood, which he went by after that time. The next info I have on him is that he married Rebecca Surlinda Chronister on 4 Dec 1901 in Clarksville, Johnson Co., Ark. His children were born in Johnson Co., Ark. and lived in Perry Co., Ark. He died in Bragg City, Pemiscott Co., Mo, and is buried in Houston, Perry Co., Ark. It is possible that Jack's father, John may have been born around 1850-1860. I recently found, via family history, the names of the other children of John and Lena Danner: Brothers: Ross (m. Emma), Buford, Oran (maybe Orrin?) Sisters: Hazel (m. Bill), Velma, Paralee, Clara, Myrl, Opel The reason I am posting is that there was a Ross DANNER who lived in Stephenville, Erath Co., Tx. According to the SSI, he was born on 6 Apr 1905 and died Aug 1984. Does anyone recall this person, or the family? It is possible this is my gg-uncle, or (more likely) his son.... Any information you could give me would be most appreciated. Does anyone have anything on these "unknown" Langstons with Erath County connections? Alton J. Langston born ? , died ? Orville E. Langston born ? , died ? J. H. Langston born 16 Jan 1835 AL, died 17 Feb 1917, Erath County. I'm guessing they are of the Isaac Newton Langston line from Alabama but have nothing on them. Appreciate anything. In 1876, Isom/Isham LaRue of Wood County, Texas, left his family with small children to go to Erath County. He is believed to have died that same year while there. Family information says he was related to Andrew Jackson O'Neal, whose wife, Dulcenia, died that same year. The father of Andrew, Wylie Jackson O'Neal, died in 1884 and was buried in the Duffau Cemetery in SE part of Erath County near the community of Duffau. I would appreciate any information on this and a lookup of cemetery records if anyone has access to such records. Thank You. Joseph LaRue Laneville, TX
I am researching LARUE and ONEAL and related families. Will share all information I have with interested parties. Joe LaRue Laneville, TX
