Its my understanding that you only count those generations that had been born in Texas. So you would start with your third grgrandfather, Frederick, who was born in Texas, and on down to you to count those as Texans. Thomas Sumral ( 1871-1949), buried Indian Creek, was the son of William Wesley and Malinda C Lucinda Roberson ( daughter of my wife's gggrandparets ( Thomas Walker & Margaret Emerson Roberson). The latter four are buried in Duffau Cemetery. I also show two of William Wesley & Malinda's children to have died in Hale Center, Texas ( Joseph Reed Sumrall ( m. Annie Rogers)& William Elisha Sumrall). Some of the Laneys ( ancestors of former Speaker of the House Pete Laney ) & kin and "shirt tail kin of the Sumralls, also removed to Hale Center from Erath. My cousins grandfather was Joe Jackson and he also worked for that railroad,,,,,,,,,and my great uncle Griffith was also a supervisor for the railroad.
