Buried: Eulaton Cemetery Benton (Calhoun County) marker placed in Bynum Cemetery, Blount County, by Blount County Mem. Com. And Warrior Rivers Chap.DAR. (note: this had some people confused, they though he had two grave sights) Service: Service records in North Carolina State Auditor's Office. Veteran received pay for Rev. War Service in Salisbury Dist. Residences: After the war, this family moved to South Carolina. Lived in Pendleton District, then to Tennessee, then on to Blount County Alabama in 1818. Murphree's Valley was named for him. He organized Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in 1822. Parents: Daniel Murphree born Ireland/ died 1769 Pittsboro, North Carolina and Sarah Dempsey who died in South Carolina. Family: m 1st name of wife unk. Found some very gross errors on other family members. One case in point. In 1937 a record was accepted and not questioned. When I received the record I discovered that The son of the individual was also listed as his father, his daughter-in-law as his mother. Kinda not wanted to use their records after that. hh
