    3. Dear Harold Gosnell You asked about Latham in Boz, Maypearl, 1801 and 1827. Are you sure you dont mean 1901 and 1927? I have researched Ellis county for a few years, and my understanding is that the first settlers in Ellis came in the 1840s. In fact I correspond with someone who thinks his ancestor, Wm G Howe, was the first settler in Ellis in about 1842, if I read him right. I have ancestors buried in a small cemetery about 5 miles west of Maypearl, and they came in the 50s, when it was well established. The Ellis co archives will have a lot of info - which I saw from a few months ago from the messages about families in Maypearl. Someone said Maypearl was a railroad town at first, but I guess the railroad is gone. The Ellis county homepage will have the history of Ellis, or you could just ask, someone will be glad to tell you what you want to know. I believe the history of Boz was in the Ellis county Quarterly last year. I would be glad to tell you myself, but I have already told you more than I know. H G (Doc) Henderson, papadoc@olywa.net
