I guess this is a volunteer org. They looked up the deaths on the index and then e-mailed me the info. They give the name date of death,the county where the death occurred and the file # where you can apply to the state for it. I made the mistake of sending a personal check to the state and they will not start the process until the check clears. They offer a fax service that they will charge to your credit card for faster service. The fee for the death certificate is $9 and for the fax service it is $8 more. The death certificate gives both parents name and where they were born. It gives where they were buried and the name of the funeral home and the doctor who signed the certificate My ggrandmother died in 1919 and the funeral home was Orr Hardware of Ferris.
