Hi, I'm having trouble with this family. I have the marriage certificate and the death certificate on Eva Lyna MCKAY b. 1864 Ennis Ellis Co TX. She had a brother Charles. Neither her marriage certificate nor her death certificate have any information helpful in tracing her ancestors. Family oral history says her parents are Everett MCKAY and Jossie JOHNSON. They say Everett changed his name when he moved to TX because he killed a man. They also say Jossie is full blood Indian or part Indian. I haven't searched all the census records yet, but, so far no luck. Has anybody heard of this family? Does anyone have any suggestions. Charles grave is at Myrtle Cemetery but it does not have a stone. We have asked the funeral home to check there records. If we can find his death date and get his death certificate maybe it will have some information. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks, Helen
