There is a bit of information on this branch of the Chapman family in the "Ovilla Texas History Book," published by the Ovilla Historical Society. See pages 65-66. Phillip A. Chapman was the son of Newton Chapman (1818-1892) and Rebecca Jane Craig (1820-1862). Phillip and his wife had three sons, James A., Frederick, and Homer.
