My mother was born in Ennis, Ellis Co. Her name was Rebecca (Becky) SHARP. Her older sister, Jenny Elva, was also born there (I always thought she was born in Scurry, but of late, I was informed it was also Ennis). Their parents were William Pinkney (Pink) Sharp b. 1894 Kaufman CO. d. July 29, 1952 Ennis, Ellis Co., and Winnie Mabel BANKS b. January 22, 1902 Kaufman CO. d. July 13, 1974 Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co. Pink Sharp's parents were Mary E. (GOWINS) b. abt. 1857 MS d. ? Kaufman Co. and Robert A. (Zan) Sharp b. Abt. 1857 AL d. early 1900's ?Henderson Co. Pink Sharp had family in Waxihachie (probably still some there)....his brother Sam, for one. Winnie Banks' parents were Cullin Banks b. Jan. 1864 Henderson CO. d. March 15, 1910 Scurry, Kaufman Co. and Annie Emma PENDERGRASS/PENDERGRAFT b Aug. 31, 1876 TX d. November 11, 1936 Kaufman Co. TX. Both Pink and his father, Robert A. Sharp met their deaths at the hands of another. Robert was beaten to death by robbers after the sale of a bale of cotton. Mary E. died of pneumonia at old age. And, Pink was shot to death by his son-in-law after a big argument. Winnie died of multiple strokes. She had not been with Pink for many years. She was married to Vernon Robertson at the time of her death. He also died of multiple strokes. Cullen and Annie Banks both died from complications of TB.....as well as Jenny Sharp. Jenny Sharp had been married three times. BILLINGS, KELSO (who shot her father), and HAYNES. Jenny was named Goldie at birth. She did not like the name, and changed it to Jenny. Becky (my mother) died of a massive heart attack, suddenly. She was also married three times. WESTMORELAND (a very very short marriage...he was from Van Zandt Co), KING (my father), and HOLLOWELL (the only father I knew). Hope this helps. Am anxious to hear from family, too. Shirley
